Blue Palace, Palace in Senatorska Street, Warsaw, Poland
The Blue Palace is a Baroque building on Senatorska Street with three floors and side wings arranged symmetrically. The façade displays classical architectural features that have been preserved over the centuries.
King Augustus II commissioned the building in the early 18th century for his daughter, hiring renowned Saxon architects to design it. The palace changed hands multiple times and underwent major renovations during the early 19th century.
The palace served as a gathering place where Warsaw's artists and writers performed and created their works. Its rooms drew talented people together and reflected the city's active cultural life.
Entry to the interior is currently not possible since the building has been closed for a long time. From the street, visitors can admire the architectural form and the characteristic blue roof tiles on the exterior.
The palace's name comes from the distinctive blue metal sheets that cover its roof form and give the building its striking appearance. This metal roof coating was added during a renovation and remains one of the most recognizable features of the structure today.
