Niemieckie Gimnazjum Reformowane

The Niemieckie Gimnazjum Reformowane is a substantial brick building from the early 20th century with classrooms, laboratories, and an auditorium. The structure was designed by architect Otto Herrnring to house multiple teaching and learning activities under one roof.

The school was founded in 1906 to serve the German-speaking population and moved to its current location in 1910. During World War I, the building was completely converted into a military hospital and educational operations came to a halt.

The school served as a gathering place for the community and offered instruction in multiple languages, making it a center of German-speaking life in the city. Visitors can still see the spaces that fostered this cultural exchange today.

The building is best explored on foot, as the architecture and structure are clearly visible from the outside. Visitors should take time to observe the details of the facade and window arrangement to understand the scale of the original teaching operation.
