Wielka Krokiew, Ski jumping hill in Zakopane, Poland
Wielka Krokiew is a ski jumping hill on the slope of Krokiew mountain in Zakopane, Poland. The facility has a K-point at 125 meters and sits at an elevation of 1378 meters (4521 feet).
The hill opened on March 22, 1925, and has hosted several Nordic World Ski Championships. The facility welcomed major international competitions in 1929, 1939, and 1962.
The complex honors Stanisław Marusarz, a Polish ski jumper and resistance fighter from World War II. During competition days, people from across the region gather in the stands to cheer on the athletes.
The stadium seats over 40,000 spectators and opens throughout the winter season for competitions and training sessions. The complex is equipped with modern systems that support both international events and regular practice.
Norwegian Benjamin Østvold set the current hill record with a jump of 150 meters (492 feet) in 2021. This record surpassed the previous mark and demonstrates the capabilities of modern ski jumpers on this facility.
