The Pomnik Sanitariuszki w Kołobrzegu is a bronze statue located on Sikorskiego Street in the spa district. It depicts a kneeling female medical soldier holding a medical bag marked with a cross.
The memorial was created to honor Ewelina Nowak, a military nurse who died in March 1945 attempting to rescue wounded soldiers. The Kołobrzeg campaign was among the fiercest fighting on the Eastern Front during that period.
The memorial honors the role of female medical personnel who served with Polish Army units during World War II. Visitors can see how these soldiers are remembered in the community today.
