Lake Czorsztyn, Artificial reservoir in Lesser Poland Voivodeship, Poland.
Lake Czorsztyn is an artificial reservoir located in the Nowy Targ County between the Pieniny and Gorce mountain ranges in southern Poland. The water body stretches along what was once the Dunajec River valley, surrounded by forested slopes that reach down to the shoreline.
The dam at Niedzica was built in the mid-1990s to control flooding in the Dunajec basin and provide hydroelectric power to the region. Several villages disappeared beneath the surface when the valley was flooded.

Boat launches and swimming spots are accessible from May through September, with most visitors arriving on warm weekends. Roads along the shore provide several viewpoints where you can see the lake and nearby castles.
Niedzica Castle and the ruins of Czorsztyn Castle stand on opposite shores, and their reflections shift across the water when the wind ripples the surface. Anglers favor the northern end, where pike and zander gather in the quieter inlets.
