Scheibler Palace, Renaissance Revival palace in Katedralna, Poland.
Scheibler Palace is a two-story mansion with symmetrical facades and carefully designed architectural details in Renaissance Revival style. Numerous windows are arranged in classical proportions that shape the building's appearance.
Architect Hilary Majewski designed the building in 1882 as a residence for factory owner Karol Scheibler. This happened during the peak years of textile production in Lodz.
The palace interior shows preserved furnishings and decorated stucco ceilings that reflect the taste of wealthy factory owners from the 19th century. The rooms keep the elegance that was typical for homes of rich industrialists of that time.
The building sits on Piotrkowska Street and is open daily for visitors. Guided tours in various languages can be booked in advance.
The building houses a collection of early film equipment, including a working Photoplasticon from around 1900 that is shown during public demonstrations. This rare machine gives visitors a window into the early days of cinema technology.
