Karl Wilhelm Scheibler's palace

Karl Wilhelm Scheibler's palace is a four-story residence with Renaissance Revival architecture in Stary Widzew. The building features eight pilasters framing the windows and a prominent tower topped with a pyramid-shaped tent roof.

The building was constructed between 1844 and 1882 as the residence of Karl Wilhelm Scheibler, a major textile industrialist. His wealth came from the large manufacturing complex he established in Łódź.

The interior preserves decorative elements from the 19th century, including detailed ceiling moldings and original fireplaces that show the craftsmanship of that period. These details reveal how wealthy industrialists lived during that era.

The palace now serves as part of the Technical University of Łódź, housing the Faculty of Organization and Management. It is located on Piotrkowska Street 266, making it accessible to visitors.

The structure underwent several expansions, including the addition of a winter garden and living room during a major renovation in 1897. These additions show how the house adapted to the changing needs of its residents.
