Krzesin Landscape Park, Nature reserve in Słubice County, Poland.
Landschaftsschutzpark Krzesin is a protected nature area in western Poland covering about 85 square kilometers with wet meadows, pastures, and riverside forests. These wetland habitats spread across the valleys of the Oder and Neisse rivers, which form the eastern boundary of the reserve.
The area received official protection status in 1998, marking an important moment for conservation in the region. This designation came as scientists and local authorities recognized the ecological importance of preserving the wetland systems and riverside habitats.
Farmers in the area continue to work the land using methods passed down through generations, shaping the open meadows that characterize the park today. Their presence is visible in how the grasslands are managed and maintained.
The reserve offers several walking trails for visitors, with the main entry points near the village of Krzesin in Gmina Cybinka. The paths work best in warmer months when the ground is drier and easier to navigate.
The reserve is home to western Poland's largest white stork breeding population, with hundreds of birds returning each spring to nest and raise their young. This congregation of storks shapes the rhythm of the park's seasons and draws birdwatchers from nearby regions.
