Stone Mountains

Góry Kamienne is a mountain range in southwestern Poland featuring diverse rock formations of gneiss and migmatite reaching about 800 meters at its highest points. The terrain is crisscrossed by marked trails and has observation towers placed at strategic locations for views across the landscape.

The rock formations here date to the Precambrian period, making them among Europe's oldest geological structures. This ancient origin has shaped the character and composition of the landscape as it stands today.

The villages around these mountains show regional building styles, and locals still practice traditional crafts and celebrate seasonal festivals that reflect the area's heritage.

The trails are clearly marked and suit various skill levels, with observation towers easily accessible along the routes. Spring through autumn offers the best conditions for walking, when paths are well-maintained and comfortable to navigate.

Rare European yew trees grow among the predominant spruce forests, creating distinct ecological zones as you move through the range. This shift between tree species is noticeable while walking and reveals the biological variety of the area.
