The Cemetery of Meritorious Wielkopolans spans two hectares on St. Adalbert Hill, featuring diverse monuments and gravestones across nine distinct quarters.
Established in 1808 under parish administrator Stanisław Kolanowski's initiative, this burial ground marks its first interment with Ignacy Sterzbecher in February 1810.
The cemetery contains graves of notable Polish figures, including city presidents Jarogniew Drwęski and Cyryl Ratajski, along with industrialist Hipolit Cegielski.
Located near Poznań Citadel, the cemetery welcomes visitors daily from 10:00 to 18:00, offering pathways through eight burial quarters and a memorial meadow.
A dedicated lapidarium in the southwestern section preserves historic grave monuments transferred from other Poznań cemeteries to protect their cultural heritage.
