Poznań Army Monument, Military memorial in Poznań, Poland
The Poznań Army Monument consists of six stone eagles suspended above memorial tablets located in Wieniawski Park. The combination of floating sculptures and carved names creates a striking composition.
The monument was unveiled in 2007 and honors the Polish Underground State and Home Army members who fought against occupation. It marks the resistance effort that took place across the country during the war years.
People stop here to read the carved names and leave candles as a way of remembering those who died. The quiet setting becomes a place where visitors pause to honor the past.
The monument sits at the corner of Niepodległości Avenue and Libelta Street and is easy to find. Informational plaques on site help visitors understand the history behind the memorial.
The six eagles were designed by artist Mariusz Kulpa in a modern style and appear to float above the tablets. This floating arrangement symbolizes freedom and independence in a contemporary way.
