Arkadia, Concert hall in Poznań, Poland

Arkadia is a neoclassical building on Plac Wolności featuring architectural design by David Gilly that defines its structure. Inside, visitors will find a tourist information center, the Kaiserpanorama, and the Eighth Day Theatre.

The original building opened between 1802 and 1804 as the city's first municipal theatre. Following its destruction, it was completely rebuilt in 1879.

This place served as a gathering point where audiences could see Polish artists perform despite outside pressure, making it meaningful for local cultural identity. Today visitors still find multiple cultural activities happening here across different forms of entertainment.

The building sits centrally on a main plaza in the heart of the city, making it easy to locate. Since several different venues operate inside, check ahead to understand which activities or exhibitions are available on your visit day.

Between the World Wars, a radio studio operated inside and broadcast programs until World War II began. This made it one of the first places in the city where radio as a new medium reached listeners.
