The rectangular plaza spans 85 by 205 meters, featuring a modern glass-winged fountain and geometric patterns in its paved surface.
Initially named Wilhelmsplatz after Frederick William III of Prussia in 1798, the space required leveling of Musza Góra hill for its construction.
The National Museum of Poznań and Raczynski Library border the square, offering exhibitions and literary collections to the public throughout the year.
Multiple tram and bus lines connect at the square, while pedestrian paths lead directly to the Old Market Square via Paderewskiego Street.
The central fountain consists of two 10-meter glass wings that mark the location where the Greater Poland Uprising began in 1918.
