Baranie

Baranie, also known as Stávok, is a summit in the High Tatras that reaches 2526 meters in elevation. Multiple hiking routes lead to the peak through steep rocky terrain with varying levels of difficulty.

This summit became a focus for climbers in the early 20th century, with documented routes established by Slovak mountaineers. The area developed a strong climbing tradition throughout the following decades.

Local mountain guides pass down traditional knowledge about the summit's weather patterns and climbing techniques through generations of mountaineering families.

Climbing requires technical experience and good physical fitness, with conditions varying greatly by season. Visitors should prepare for changing weather and rocky terrain, making proper equipment and preparation essential.

The peak can be reached via seven different routes, offering varied climbing experiences for different skill levels. Some paths present significant technical challenges that appeal to seasoned mountaineers.
