Red Sea Tower in Stargard, Gothic fortified tower in Stargard, Poland
The Red Sea Tower rises 34 meters high with a rectangular stone base measuring 8 by 9 meters and a cylindrical brick shaft decorated with diamond patterns.
Built during the second half of the 14th century, this defensive tower became part of the medieval fortification system protecting the town of Stargard.
The tower received its name from local stories about battles during the Thirty Years War that resulted in substantial casualties near its walls.
Visitors can access the tower through an entrance on the first floor, which opens during summer months for guided tours of its eight interior levels.
The structure contains a prison dungeon on the ground floor, while its western wall features a platform that was specifically designed for cannon placement.
