Dom "Nad Zdrojami" in Szczawnica

Dom Nad Zdrojami is a two-story villa featuring wooden trim on its exterior walls and a pump room on the ground floor that serves mineral water from six natural springs. The structure combines active water facilities with exhibition space located upstairs.

Architect József Szalay designed and built this villa in 1863, replacing an earlier water pavilion that had served the growing spa community. The building became a significant landmark in Szczawnica's development as a health resort.

The upper floor operates as a gallery space where rotating art exhibitions showcase regional artists and contemporary works. This venue plays a role in the local artistic community and attracts visitors interested in seeing different creative expressions.

The villa sits at Dietla Square 9 in the town center, making it easy to reach on foot while exploring Szczawnica. Visitors can taste mineral water and view art exhibitions during daytime hours, allowing for a flexible stop during a walking tour.

A fire caused significant damage to the structure in 2002, but the Mańkowski family reconstructed it carefully in 2008 with great attention to detail. The rebuild preserved the Swiss architectural style of the original while incorporating modern construction methods.
