Dworzec Gościnny in Szczawnica

Dworzec Gościnny is a wooden villa built in the late 19th century with larch wood frames, shingled walls, galleries, porches, and decorative towers designed in Swiss style. The building contains a large ballroom and today operates as a venue equipped with modern multimedia and sound systems.

Construction began in 1875 under Józef Szalay's direction and was completed in 1884 based on designs by architect Maciej Moraczewski from Krakow. Following a major fire in 1962, the building was comprehensively restored between 2008 and 2011.

The ballroom served as a gathering place for performers and writers who came to Szczawnica during the 19th century. It reflected the villa's role as a cultural hub where artistic and intellectual circles met and exchanged ideas.
