Roztokatal is a mountain valley carved through the High Tatra range with steep wooded slopes on either side and a small mountain shelter at its heart. The terrain rises gradually as you move deeper into the gorge, with coniferous forests framing the path throughout.

Ancient coniferous trees grow throughout the valley, with some individual trees reaching ages of several centuries old. The forest provides a habitat for mountain wildlife including deer and other alpine species that roam freely here.
