Stare Bielsko Gord

Stare Bielsko Gord is a medieval fortification sitting atop a hill in Upper Silesia, featuring preserved earthen ramparts and settlement traces. The remains include foundations and structures scattered across the site, revealing how the community was organized and defended.

The settlement emerged during the early medieval period and grew into a significant defensive stronghold during the 13th and 14th centuries. Archaeological discoveries show that the fortification maintained a sustained role as a regional administrative center.

This site served as a community hub for generations and reflects how early Upper Silesian people organized their settlements. The elevated position made it both a practical stronghold and a visible symbol of power for those living in the region.

The grounds are accessible year-round and the ramparts are easy to walk around, though the terrain can be uneven and sometimes slippery. Few facilities exist on site, so plan for outdoor exploration and wear sturdy footwear.
