Franków

Franków is a hill reaching 534 meters at the northern edge of the Beskid Niski range. The terrain rises through mixed forests and opens at the summit to a clearing with distant views across the surrounding ridges.

During 1944, this hill became a key defensive position in the fighting between German and Soviet forces. German infantry units occupied and held the hilltop against advancing attackers.

The summit holds a memorial dedicated to soldiers who died during the fighting here. Visitors often pause at this spot to reflect on the place's connection to wartime sacrifice.

The route to the summit follows forest trails through a steady climb that takes several hours. Sturdy hiking boots and basic fitness help make the ascent easier and more comfortable.
