Góra Markowca, Hilltop military observation point in Rumia, Poland.
Góra Markowca is a 92-meter-high hill on the western edge of Rumia that overlooks the Kashubian Valley and Gdańsk Bay. The site has a flat summit accessible via marked walking trails in the area.
German forces built an anti-aircraft battery on the summit during World War II, equipped with 105mm cannons and radar guidance systems. This military installation shaped the site's history from 1945 onward.
The hill carries the name of its former landowners and remains part of local memory through family histories tied to the land. People in the area recognize it as a place rooted in their region's past.
The site is accessible via a marked black walking trail that leads through the area and reaches the summit. Mountain bikes can also access the summit during dry weather conditions.
The flat summit preserves five cannon foundation bases, trenches, and a fire control bunker from the 1945 military installations. These physical remains allow visitors to directly experience the site's wartime past.
