Rezerwat przyrody Czerwica, Nature reserve in Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship, Poland.
Rezerwat przyrody Czerwica is a nature reserve on two islands and a peninsula on Lake Czerwica, featuring old-growth stands of pedunculate oak, beech, and pine. Two smaller lakes within the area, Jasne and Luba, sit surrounded by peat bogs that create specialized habitats for local plants and animals.
The reserve became home to a large breeding colony of cormorants and grey herons beginning in 1934. Bird populations at the site peaked during the 1950s.
The reserve forms part of the Park Krajobrazowy Pojezierza Iławskiego, where visitors document and study the diverse bird populations through photography and observation.
Access to the area is managed by the office in Jerzwałd, which oversees daily operations. Visitors should follow marked paths and respect any local guidelines posted at entry points.
The area is noted for its longstanding bird colonies documented as far back as the early 1900s. These birds return annually to nest in the reeds and on the islands.
