Rezerwat przyrody Wąwóz Siedmicki, Nature reserve in Chełmy Landscape Park, Poland.
Siedmicki Gorge is a nature reserve following the Młynówka stream through greenstone rocks that create steep walls along the waterway. The rocks show layered formations and differ in color, revealing the geological history of the landscape through their exposed surfaces.
The site developed from ancient lava flows that transformed into greenstone, creating the gorge visible today. In medieval times, a fortification called Zbójecki Zamek stood here as a strategic point between local settlements.
The area houses the grave of Forest Guardian Friedrich Hillger, marking the historical connection between local communities and forest preservation efforts.
Access begins from a parking area near Nowa Wieś Wielka with a walking path leading to the main information point. Wear sturdy shoes since the forest trails have uneven ground and can become slippery after rain.
The reserve hosts more than 200 plant species, many of which are protected and rarely found elsewhere in the region. This botanical richness comes from the moist environment and nutrient-rich soil created by countless years of erosion.
