Schronisko na Koziej Górze, Mountain hut in Silesian Beskids, Poland
Schronisko na Koziej Górze is a mountain hut located at 676 meters on Mount Kozia Góra in the Silesian Beskids, offering 28 beds in various room types and a traditional restaurant. The facility includes a fireplace room, table tennis area, outdoor playground, and a covered bonfire space for group gatherings.
The hut was established in 1909 and served mountaineers exploring the Silesian Beskids for over a century. Its long operational history made it an important shelter along climbing routes in the region.
The mountain carries an alternative name, Stefanka, honoring Karol Steffan, a former mayor of Bielsko and leader of the Beskidenverein organization. This naming reflects the area's connection to a significant local figure.
Access is straightforward as the hut sits along marked hiking trails and is reachable from various trailheads in the region. Visitors should prepare for changing weather conditions, as mountain conditions can shift quickly at this elevation.
A massive toboggan run once operated near the shelter, stretching 2200 meters with 30 turns and attracting winter sports enthusiasts from across the region. Only ruins of this former attraction remain visible today.
