Sanktuarium Trójcy Przenajświętszej i św. Anny w Prostyni, Catholic sanctuary in Prostyn, Poland.
The Sanctuary of the Holy Trinity and Saint Anna in Prostyń comprises two connected church buildings with white walls and conventional religious design features. These structures were created by architect Bohdan Pniewski as a pilgrimage destination for visitors and worshippers.
The original wooden church from 1344 was long attached to a neighboring parish before being destroyed by German forces during World War II in 1944. The structure was subsequently rebuilt and expanded into the sanctuary that stands today.
The sanctuary maintains a parish library containing an encyclopedia of Prostyn and documentation about local roadside shrines and crosses from the region.
Regular religious services are held according to a schedule found on the parish website, allowing visitors to participate in worship. The cemetery is well-maintained and accessible for those seeking a quiet space for reflection.
This sanctuary is the only pilgrimage destination in Poland dedicated to the Holy Trinity with this specific focus. Pope John Paul II presented a precious chalice to the site as a commemorative gift marking his 50 years in the priesthood.
