Most drogowy w Małkini, Road bridge across Bug River in Małkinia Górna, Poland
The road bridge in Małkinia is a modern structure spanning the Bug River with two traffic lanes and separate paths for pedestrians and cyclists. The construction stretches approximately 400 meters to connect both sides of the waterway.
An original bridge was built in 1887 and initially served both rail and road traffic before being restricted to vehicular use in 1993. The current structure opened in 2010 after the previous one closed in 2008 due to deteriorating conditions.
The bridge connects the communities of Małkinia Mała-Przewóz and Treblinka, facilitating local transportation and social connections between these municipalities.
The bridge provides a safe and convenient crossing with marked paths for different types of traffic users. It is advisable to use the pedestrian areas during peak traffic times when vehicle movement is heaviest.
The project was carried out by Spanish company Sando and received substantial support from European funding sources. This international backing enabled the construction of a durable modern structure serving the region.
