Suchy Wierch Ornaczański, Mountain summit in Western Tatra Mountains, Poland.
Suchy Wierch Ornaczański is the lowest of four summits in the Ornak range at 1,832 meters (6,010 feet) above sea level. A green-marked hiking trail runs along the entire ridge, connecting different passes and smaller peaks across the formation.
The slopes served as pastureland for Hala Ornak, supporting how local mountain communities raised livestock across generations. This grazing tradition shaped the use of the alpine areas over time.
The summit sits between two valleys and shapes how people navigate this mountain region. Visitors notice how the slopes create a natural boundary in the landscape.
The green-marked route from Iwaniacka Przełęcz takes roughly 2 hours and 20 minutes to reach the summit. Wear sturdy hiking boots and bring layers, as mountain weather can shift quickly at this elevation.
Mid-summer brings a striking red tint to the slopes when young shoots of situ skucina grow among alpine bellflowers and dogtooth lilies. This color display lasts only a few weeks.
