Uwolnienie Andromedy przez Perseusza

Uwolnienie Andromedy przez Perseusza, Bronze sculpture in Wilson Park, Poland.

The sculpture depicts Perseus rescuing Andromeda from the sea monster Ketos, creating a central focal point in the French garden layout.

Originally placed in Cyril Ratajski Square in 1891, the sculpture was relocated to Wilson Park in 1956 following World War II damage.

Created by Berlin Art Academy professor Johannes Pfuhl, this bronze artwork represents a classical Greek mythology scene in front of the Palm House.

The sculpture stands in the central part of Wilson Park near the Palm House, surrounded by benches where visitors can rest and observe.

The statue was initially intended to be part of a fountain complex dedicated to Empress Victoria's visit to Poznan in 1888.
