Museum of Zakopane Style at Villa Koliba

The Museum of Zakopane Style at Villa Koliba displays regional architectural elements and interior furnishings across five original rooms of a historic house. The collection features furnished spaces that provide insight into how people lived during this period.

The house was built between 1892 and 1893 and was the first project by a notable architect who integrated local building styles from the Podhale mountain region into his design. The building marked the beginning of a movement that reinterpreted regional building traditions.

The rooms display handcrafted furniture and objects that reflect the regional building style that emerged in the late 1800s in this area. Visitors can see how local craftsmen integrated their surroundings into everyday pieces.

The museum is located in a residential neighborhood and is best reached on foot via the street that runs through the old town. Visitors should be prepared for stairs, as some rooms are on different levels.

The dining room on the ground floor has retained its original appearance for over a century, giving a direct sense of daily life from that time. These spaces show how people actually used and arranged their homes.
