Gubałówka PKL
Gubałówka PKL is a mountain peak near Zakopane that rises to 1123 meters above sea level. The site features a cable car for access and a long promenade at the top with shops, cafes, and rest areas, along with a ski slope for winter visitors.
The cable car was built in 1938 and stretches nearly 1 kilometer to ascend about 300 meters. This infrastructure was constructed before the 1939 World Ski Championships and underwent a complete renovation in 2001.
Gubałówka serves as a gathering place where locals and visitors relax together throughout the year. Souvenir shops and cafes line the promenade, offering regional products and reflecting the traditions of mountain life in this area.
Access is straightforward by car or bus, and the cable car operates year-round with journeys taking just a few minutes. Parking is available nearby, tickets can be purchased online or at the stations, and leashed dogs are allowed.
The site is illuminated by thousands of LED lamps in the evenings, creating a sparkling light display visible from all of Zakopane. This festive decoration transforms the mountain into a glowing spectacle, especially striking during the darker months.
