Construction of the church began in 1877 under Father Józef Stolarczyk's supervision and concluded in 1896, making it the oldest brick temple in Zakopane.
The interior combines Neo-Romanesque and Neo-Gothic elements with regional Highlander influences, displaying local artistic traditions through its architecture and decorations.

The ceiling features polychrome work by Piotr Niziński, depicting the Eight Beatitudes with local mountain inhabitants in traditional regional clothing.
