Villa Witkiewiczówka in Zakopane

The building was constructed between 1903 and 1904 by architect Jan Koszczyc Witkiewicz and was originally named Na Antołówce. It later became the family residence and took the name by which it is known today.

The villa served as a portrait studio for artist Stanisław Ignacy Witkiewicz from 1931 to 1939, making it a working creative space rather than just a residence. It reflects the artistic pull that Zakopane held for painters and writers seeking inspiration in the mountain region.

The villa now operates as a guesthouse with additional holiday cottages and welcomes visitors, though hours should be confirmed in advance. The location is central enough in Zakopane to include it in a walking tour of the town.
