Description
Waligóra is a mountain summit in Lower Silesia rising to 936 meters with steep slopes on its sides. Dense beech and spruce forests cover the northern face, creating a forested landscape.
History
Before 1945 the mountain was called Heidelberg and had a wooden triangulation tower at its summit. This tower was later removed due to deterioration and no longer stands today.
Culture
The name comes from Polish folklore, referring to a giant figure with supernatural strength to overturn mountains. This legend remains part of how local people connect with the place and its meaning.
Practical
Start your hike from the Andrzejówka mountain shelter, following marked trails that lead to the summit. The route takes about 2.8 kilometers and requires standard hiking gear.
