The district developed around a sugar factory established in 1894, which operated until 2007 and served as a major industrial center for the region.

The Saint Teresa of the Child Jesus Parish Church, constructed between 1936 and 1937, stands as a central religious institution for the local community.

The district contains the Lublin Railway Station, Arena Lublin stadium, and the International Lublin Fair, connecting transport and commercial activities.

The former sugar factory buildings include preserved structures such as the management building, director's palace, and administrative facilities from the 19th century.
