Jezioro Przeczyckie, Artificial reservoir in Mierzęcice Commune, Poland.
Jezioro Przeczyckie is an artificial reservoir in Mierzęcice Commune, Silesian Voivodeship, formed by damming local rivers. The lake has several beach areas along its shores, surrounded by gentle slopes and grassy land.
The reservoir was created in 1963 by damming local rivers, flooding older structures that had been built in the first half of the 20th century. Those remains still lie beneath the water today.
The lake serves as a popular gathering spot for people from the surrounding Silesian region who come for water sports and fishing during summer months. Visitors find it a place to spend leisure time with family and friends.
The northern section has a developed area with dining options, equipment rentals, and parking. Access to the water and beach areas from there is straightforward and easy to follow.
On the lake floor lie the remains of old fortifications and a concrete bridge built before World War II. On clear days, these submerged structures can sometimes be made out from the shore.
