Źródło Marii

Źródło Marii is a small chapel with a white Virgin Mary statue positioned above a water fountain that emerges from a natural spring in the Oliwa Forests. The site includes seating areas and parking, with clearly marked trails connecting visitors to this woodland location.

The first chapel was built in 1922 by railway workers who experienced a survival incident during construction of the Kokoszki-Gdynia rail line, leading them to create this memorial. The site grew from this moment of gratitude and the workers' desire to mark their escape from danger.

This chapel serves as a gathering place where visitors come to connect their faith with the natural surroundings of the forest. The water source itself has become meaningful to those who visit, drawing people seeking spiritual moments in a woodland setting.

Visitors can reach the chapel via two clearly marked hiking trails that provide good navigation through the forest. The site offers parking spaces and benches for rest, making it easy to plan a stop during a walking route.

The water flowing at this location comes from far beneath the ground surface through a specially built system that brings it to the fountain. Visitors can collect this water directly from the fountain to take with them.
