Description
The Cosmopolis Fountain in the Old Town features 100 nozzles in circular patterns that represent planetary orbits, with a central jet reaching about 5 meters high. The fountain sits at Skwer im. Lucjana Broniewicza and operates during summer evenings with coordinated shows of water, lights, and music.
History
The fountain was designed by architect Zbigniew Mikielewicz with references to Nicolaus Copernicus's work on the heliocentric model of the solar system. This connection links the fountain to the scientific heritage of Toruń and the history of astronomy.

The fountain performs water choreography set to an original composition called Cosmopolis and selected film soundtracks. These shows blend movement with sound to create a form of art that draws people to gather in the square.
