The Church of the Assumption of Our Lady is a church building with three naves and vaulting in Gothic style. The interior is defined by tall pointed windows that direct light onto brick walls and wooden structures.
History
Franciscan monks founded this building in 1239 as a religious center in the city. After about three centuries, the building changed religious use, until it later returned to Catholic practice.
Culture
The walls inside display paintings from the 14th century showing scenes from the life of Saint Francis. These artworks blend with ornate wooden choir stalls that shape the church's character through their craftsmanship.
