Fort IXa w Poznaniu, Military fort in Poznań, Poland.

Fort IXa features a trapezoidal layout with underground chambers, defensive walls, and a dry moat measuring 10 meters wide and 9 meters deep.

Construction of Fort IXa began in 1877 and concluded in 1881, initially named Witzleben until 1902 when it was renamed after Colonel Wincenty Aksamitowski.

The fort represents a significant example of 19th-century military architecture and forms part of the extensive Poznań Fortress defense system.

Access to the fort interior requires permission from the management, and certain sections of the structure remain closed due to safety considerations.

Fort IXa stands as the only preserved intermediate fort of its original type in Poznań, featuring two rotating infantry observation domes installed around 1892.
