Church of the Pokrov in Hańczowa

The wooden Church of the Pokrov features a three-section design with a timber-framed construction, including a nave, presbytery with vestry, and tower with porch.

Built in 1644, the church transformed from Greek Catholic to Catholic and finally became Orthodox in 1958 following the return of displaced local families.

The interior contains an 18th-century iconostasis created by Antoni Bogdański and his sons, showcasing traditional religious artistry of the Galicia region.

The religious building stands within a 19th-century wooden fence enclosure and remains an active Orthodox church open to worshippers and visitors.

A bronze plaque on the church wall commemorates the Lemko people who were expelled from the region during the 1947 Vistula Operation.
