Rotunda, Mountain summit in Beskid Niski, Poland
Rotunda is a mountain summit in the Lower Beskids range in southern Poland, rising to 771 meters above sea level. The peak can be reached via marked hiking trails from various starting points in the surrounding region.
The summit played a key role in military operations during World War I between Russian and Austro-Hungarian forces. Fortification remains from that period are still visible on the mountain.
The summit holds traditional hiking ceremonies where local mountaineers gather annually to commemorate fallen soldiers and celebrate regional traditions.
The Rotunda is easily reached via green marked hiking trails, with the route from Wysowa-Zdrój offering the most direct access. The paths suit hikers of different experience levels and pass through the region's typical mountain landscape.
The limestone formations around the summit contain several small caves showing geological structures from the Carpathian flysch period. These underground spaces are partially visible while hiking and reveal the area's ancient geological past.
