Jaskinia Juhaska, Cave entrance in Strążyska Valley, Western Tatras, Poland.
Jaskinia Juhaska is a cave entrance with two openings located on the northern wall of Juhaska Turnia rock formation. The cave contains a main chamber and extends into the mountain with considerable vertical depth.
Mariusz Zaruski led the first documented exploration of the cave in 1907. This expedition marked the beginning of scientific interest in studying this natural formation.
The second entrance is called Orle Okno, named after eagles that once nested here in earlier times. This connection to local wildlife continues to shape how people think about the place today.
Access to the cave requires following mountain paths that demand proper hiking gear and sure-footedness on steep terrain. Visitors should be prepared for changing mountain conditions and bring appropriate equipment for high-altitude exploration.
Inside the cave entrance stands a stone mound and wooden cross marking where a shepherd lost his life in 1879. This quiet memorial recalls one of the mountain's earliest recorded tragedies.
