The building, constructed in 1905 at a cost of 700,000 marks, represented the first market hall of its kind in Upper Silesia with electric lighting and water supply.
The neo-Gothic building displays decorative elements on its facade, including sculptures of fish, animals, and fruit, reflecting local trade and commerce traditions.
The market hall contains various shops and stalls offering fresh produce, meats, and other daily necessities to residents and visitors of Chorzów.
The original facade remains preserved behind a newer structure, standing one meter apart, allowing potential future restoration of the historical architecture.
