Jaskinia Salmopolska

Jaskinia Salmopolska is a cave entrance in the Silesian Beskids mountains with an extensive network of underground passages. The system stretches over 1000 meters and descends more than 20 meters into the mountain.

The cave was discovered in 1969 by road workers and speleologists during construction work and revealed several chambers. One of these spaces later became known as the Rock Horse Hall.

The cave is part of a protected landscape area and displays sandstone formations shaped over long periods. Visitors can observe the different rock layers that tell the story of the mountain.

Visitors should wear sturdy shoes and rain gear since underground passages can be tight and slippery. A flashlight or headlamp is necessary to explore the dark areas safely.

After heavy rainfall and during snowmelt periods, intense water flows can be seen rushing through the chambers. The cave maintains a constant cold temperature throughout the year that stays well below freezing.
