Zielony Kopiec

Zielony Kopiec rises to approximately 1152 meters and forms a prominent peak within the Barania ridge of the Silesian Beskids. The mountain summit offers clear views of surrounding peaks without any commercial structures at the top.

The mountain served historically as a natural boundary marker between Silesia and Lesser Poland, shaping regional division in these areas. This geographic role made it an important reference point for surrounding regions.

Local hikers have built and maintained paths to the summit, reflecting how deeply connected people in this region are with mountain activities.

Several hiking routes lead to the summit, including a route of about 14 kilometers from Biały Krzyż with about 550 meters of elevation gain. Good hiking boots and weather-resistant clothing are helpful for safely reaching the peak.

The summit remains free from restaurants or other commercial development, which is rare among many popular mountain destinations. This simplicity preserves the wild character of the place and offers an undisturbed mountain experience.
