Barania Góra, Mountain summit in Silesian Beskids, Poland

Barania Góra is a mountain summit in the Silesian Beskids that reaches 1220 meters in elevation, making it the second highest peak in the range. An observation tower stands on the summit, offering views of the surrounding mountain landscape.

The mountain formed millions of years ago through geological processes as part of the Beskiden range. Its western slopes contain the springs where the Biała and Czarna Wisełka rivers originate, joining to form the Vistula River.

The mountain serves as a gathering point for hikers who follow marked trails through the landscape and experience the natural character of the region. Locals and visitors alike use these paths to connect with the surrounding Beskid environment.

Several marked hiking trails lead to the summit, with most routes requiring a few hours of walking at a moderate pace. It is advisable to wear sturdy footwear and exercise caution in poor weather conditions, as the peak is exposed.

A 386-hectare nature reserve encompasses the peak area and protects the vital source waters of the Vistula River system. This makes the mountain an important location for preserving one of Europe's major river systems.
