Rzym Inn in Sucha Beskidzka

The Rzym Inn is a wooden single-story building that maintains traditional architectural details and sits at Rynek 1, where paths leading to different regions converge. The establishment holds about 180 guests and prepares traditional Polish food on a coal-fired stove that has been in use for centuries.

Count Branicki commissioned the construction in the mid-1700s to serve travelers crossing the amber trade route from Gdańsk toward Italy. Since then the building has hosted merchants, pilgrims, and traders who passed through on this major commercial path.

The painted horse emblem on the wall refers to the town's past as a gathering place for horse traders. The space maintains the local crafts and customs of the region through its design and daily use.

The building sits in the town center at the market square, making it easy to locate. The interior has ample seating arranged to welcome visitors, and the establishment works best for those looking to rest and eat after travel.

Local stories connect this place to Pan Twardowski, a legendary figure in Polish folklore. Visitors sometimes learn that the poet Adam Mickiewicz may have found inspiration here for his famous ballad about this mysterious character.
