Jezioro Jaroszewskie, Glacial lake in Wielkopolska region, Poland
Lake Jaroszewskie is a glacial lake in the Wielkopolska region formed by ground moraine deposits that created deep basins surrounded by steep wooded banks. The shoreline features varied terrain with forest areas descending toward the water.
This lake formed during the last glacial period when ground moraine processes shaped the deep basins and surrounding terrain. The glacial origins created the distinctive hilly landscape that exists today.
Since 1957, the lake has been home to the Central Physical Culture Center, providing facilities for swimming, tennis, basketball, and volleyball activities.
Kayaks, boats, and water bikes are available for rent along the eastern shore where access piers are located. A supervised beach provides a safe entry point for swimming and water activities.
The lake maintains clear water conditions and contains extensive underwater meadows with diverse aquatic plant species beneath the surface. These submerged plants create an interesting feature for visitors exploring the water.
