Lackowa - Beskid Niski 997 mnpm, Mountain summit in Beskid Niski, Poland
Lackowa is the highest summit in the Beskid Niski mountain range in southern Poland at 997 meters. From the top, hikers can see across multiple surrounding ridges and valleys.
During the 1700s the open summit served as a lookout point for regional fighters during an uprising. Its exposed position made it useful for monitoring the surrounding lands.
The mountain trails connect multiple villages where visitors experience regional Low Beskid traditions through local food, music, and religious architecture.
The hike from Izby takes about 2 to 3 hours on marked trails. The mountain is accessible year-round, though spring and autumn offer the most comfortable weather.
The western slope contains one of the steepest and most technically demanding paths in the Polish mountains. This route sees far fewer visitors than the main trail and demands genuine climbing skills.
