Lasek Mogilski

Lasek Mogilski is a forested area in Nowa Huta district featuring elm, oak, and ash trees arranged across a triangular plot of land. Paved walkways wind through the woods, allowing visitors to move easily between different sections of the reserve.

The forest was originally held by Bishop Iwo Odrowaz in the 13th century and later came under the care of Cistercian monks. This monastic history shaped the character of the land and its spiritual significance.

The chapel dedicated to Our Lady of Czestochowa sits within the forest and serves as a focal point for local religious observance and community gatherings. Visitors can witness how faith remains an active part of daily life in this part of Krakow.

The reserve is accessible through several entrance points distributed around its perimeter, making it convenient for visitors arriving from different directions. Public transportation serves the area well, and parking is available nearby for those arriving by car.

Several ancient trees within the forest have received official protected status as natural monuments. These venerable specimens stand out as remarkable examples of the woodland's age and ecological value.
